15.05.13 The 2015 champions are crowned!
Champions were crowned today after the final runs of the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships.
Today’s battle for the titles took place on the very respected and steep face of Nordalsbranten in Riksgränsen. The judges, the crowd on site and thousands of online followers, witnessed the next-level freeride event of all times in the 24 year history of the event.
Carl Regnér Eriksson is the 2015 Scandinavian Champion. Carl, who was in the lead after two runs, ticked all the right boxes for a jackpot score in his last run, giving him the overall title. The 2014 and 2013 champion, Kristofer Turdell, was second in the overall, just ahead of Olle Regnér Eriksson (older brother of Carl!), who pulled off the fastest run ever in Nordalsbranten today.
Matilda Rapaport showed her experience in knowing exactly how far to take the risk aspect by putting down a solid run including good speed and high airs giving her the 2015 title. In second place Hedvig Wessel of Norway, showed no hesitation when she stomped the highest airs among the women, awarding her the second place. Elisabeth Gerritzen, Switzerland, took third place overall with three high quality runs showing perfect technique and good speed.
In the snowboard category, Cody Bramwell was untouchable. He was in superior lead already after two runs and today he delivered another high speed run ending with a huge air in perfect control.
Among the telemarkers, Erik Nordin took his first overall victory ahead of Per Jonsson.
