25.05.06 The SBMC 2025 Qualification run is completed

Day 1 of 3. The SBMC Qualification run is completed after a full day of riding for about 150 competitors at “Sadeln” on Nordalsfjäll in Riksgränsen. Riders and the enthusiastic crowd enjoyed great snow conditions and sunny weather, with degrading visibility in the afternoon. The athletes delivered strong performances, especially from the big names.

Snowboard
In the men’s snowboard category, August Coster and Jonas Nordenström from Sweden are tied in top position. Cladia Bings from Germany stood out with a strong run, ahead of  of last years champion Lina Kurunsaari from Finland, and Tova Nejne (Swe).

Telemark
Among the telemarkers, the reigning champion Erik Nordin, as usual with fast and fluid tele turns, is in a solid lead. Oscar Ahlquist (Swe) is second and Iisko Kuusisto (Finland) is in third position.

Women’s Ski
The women delivered impressive performances. Selma Palmkvist (Swe) is in a strong lead after clean run that ticked all the boxes. Lovisa Rosengren (Swe) and the reigning champion Maria Rydén (Swe) are tied in second place.

Men’s Ski
The judges had a hard time to separate the men’s ski category, with only 0,5 points difference among the top six riders. Max Palm (Swe) is in the lead after finishing a different line with high speed and a perfectly executed side flip. The 2024 champion Edvin Olsson (Swe), who did his first comp after an injury, is only 0,2 points behind. Alex Hackl (USA) is in third place with his typical creative and crowd pleasing style.
