The SBMC is not only a championship for fame and glory in the freeride community. It is also the grande finale of the European freeride season with a few days of unforgettable atmosphere, camaraderie and partying in the arctic light. We saw some amazing, yet controlled performances at the qualifications in Nordalsadeln on Monday. The Freeride world tour skiers demonstrated their master skills with high speed and perfect technique. The next generation of freeriders, represented by Max Palm, Nisse Wersén and others, delivered fantastic runs with unpredictable rotations and full control.
Caroline Strömberg, who’s been close to victory at the SBMC many times, is in the lead, but with close margin to Ronja Stenhös and Sofie Gidlund.
Snowboarder August Coster is in the lead after his first ever start in the SBMC, ahead of Adam Falk. Louise Albinsson stood out among among the women snowboarers.
